The Swig Company’s 595 East Colorado Earns Triple Honor at Pasadena Historic Preservation Awards

June 4, 2026

The Swig Company is proud to announce that 595 East Colorado Boulevard was recognized with an extraordinary three-category win at the recent Pasadena Historic Preservation Award ceremony for the Robbins Brothers Fine Jewelry tenant improvement construction project, receiving honors for:

  • Rehabilitation
  • Preservation
  • Adaptive Reuse

Among the five projects recognized this year, 595 East Colorado was the only project to receive awards in all three categories, underscoring the exceptional scope and quality of its restoration, repositioning and adaptive reuse of the space. The Pasadena Historic Preservation Awards celebrate projects that make outstanding contributions to protecting and enhancing the city’s architectural heritage.

Built in 1928, 595 East Colorado Blvd. is a distinguished Beaux Arts-inspired LEED Gold and WELL Certified office building and a registered historic landmark in Pasadena’s Playhouse District. The first floor was formerly home to a well-known bank branch and through careful demolition, design, and preservation of historic elements, the space retains its original grandeur after the Robbins Brothers construction was completed in October 2025.  The building has undergone a meticulous transformation that preserves its iconic architectural character while adapting the property for contemporary use. The project restored and preserved significant historic features, revitalized the ground floor space for Robbins Brothers Fine Jewelers’ use and ensured the long-term stewardship of one of Colorado Boulevard’s most prominent historic buildings.

“Receiving this award from the City of Pasadena and the Historic Preservation Commission is a tremendous honor and a meaningful recognition of the collaborative effort that made this possible. Since acquiring 595 East Colorado in 2011, we have remained committed to preserving and enhancing this remarkable historic landmark, and we are proud that its latest chapter successfully balances historic stewardship with modern functionality,” said Cory Kristoff, Executive Vice President, Asset Management, The Swig Company. “We are grateful to Robbins Brothers and the many talented partners, consultants and contractors whose vision and expertise brought this new retail space to life.”

Through thoughtful adaptive reuse, the building has been repositioned to meet modern needs while maintaining its status as a treasured part of Pasadena’s historic fabric. Along with The Swig Company, the team making this possible includes:
